Zoom is a bleaching process widely used throughout the country and around the world to lighten discoloration of enamel and dentin. Tooth discoloration may result from drinking coffee, tea, cola and red wine; or from smoking. The aging process also can stain and darken your teeth. As the hydrogen peroxide is broken down, oxygen enters the enamel and dentin to bleach the stained substances, leaving the structure of the tooth unchanged. After the Zoom whitening treatment, you will not be able to eat and drink certain foods for up to 72 hours as it can interfere with the whitening process. The Zoom whitening process only takes a little more than an hour. The preparation takes only a few minutes, and the procedure itself is a full hour. During that time, there is little to no discomfort, other than the teeth feeling cold from the gel.
